I didn't take a lot of pictures this rally, partly due to the rain on Friday night and Saturday morning and afternoon. And partly because there were only 6 bikes that showed up this year.
DNC (David) was the first to show up at Lake Hope, he arrived Thursday before anyone else. He brought his 450 chopper, and it looked sweet! I believe his Rebel is the most modified Rebel that ever showed at Lake Hope. Attachments:

We ate at the Lake Hope lodge on Friday night instead of making chili as planned, again due to the rain. BOB the bear was with us when we left with no rain, but as we ate the rain crept in. I don't think BOB was happy...

Because of the rain we got off to an unplanned late start for the Saturday ride, did I mention rain? We set out at 11:10 instead of 10:00 sharp. Unbeknownst to me, Lake Hope lodge stopped serving Saturday breakfast. So we ended up going to MacArthur for breakfast. As a result, we didn't get back until around 10:15. I did run over to the lodge to see if anyone showed for the Saturday ride, but I didn't see anyone crazy enough to ride with us. LOL BOB was a trooper and went with us anyway, though he didn't look too happy. The rain was light and didn't really soak you, but it was annoying none the less. The rain quit before we got to our destination which was Portsmouth, Ohio. The city has a big flood wall and it's famous for the murals which are painted on it. The wall was around 1/2 mile long and had many murals painted on it, not just these 2. It seemed to be a chronological display of the city's history.

BG's (Marty) Silverwing died here at the wall unfortunately. Fortunately though his bro-in-law was towing a trailer which made me feel secure not only for BG, but for me too since my Rebel was leaking oil out the crank seal at the time.
We ate at Ribber's. The food was awesome, though the menu is unexpected. I ordered 2 bones and thought I was getting a good sampling of their ribs. What I got was more like a pork steak, but 2 of them! Quite filling! The taste was amazing too, I will go back!

We finished off Saturday night by finally cooking chili. BOB got to sit by the fire so he could dry out. Lexyntax (Daniel) showed up late to the rally and didn't get to ride with us, but he showed up Saturday night. Better late than never. LOL Since everyone was tuckered out from the ride Saturday, no one seemed to want to BS around the campfire. Dan, Jim and BOB...
Lake Hope has an awesome Sunday brunch, they even have their famous brisket on the menu. Some of us headed over there for breakfast, some were gone already. And that concludes the smallest rally that I've ever attended. 6 bikes showed, one got sick and another broke down. It wasn't the best rally I've attended, but I still got to experience new roads, old roads (much fun!), and new places that I haven't been. I also got to see some familiar faces again and meet some that I haven't seen in a few years, as well as new. Marty you need to get your bro-in-laws here more often. Attachments:

I love small gatherings and pretty much dislike large crowds, please tell us again where the Lake Hope rally is held.

Lake Hope state park in Ohio. I'm not fond of large gatherings myself and don't mind the small attendance, but this year the rain seemed to put a damper on everything. The Michigan rally had a few more bikes, but it seemed to be the smallest until this year.

The weather can break up a bike rally quicker than the police. Unfortunately Lake Hope is just to far away for me and that's just too bad!

In past rally's people from Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Michigan, Mississippi have attended. I might have missed some states. I can fully understand ride limitations, I have some myself. But if you ever can get up to the area, the roads were made for bikes. LOL

Old School, there are a lot of twisties getting to Lake Hope, and plenty once you get there. Not like riding in the flat Coastal Plain where you and I live. Really kept my adrenaline level up, and a smile on my face! It does take several days to get there and back, but the riding experience can't be matched. Plus you get to meet the people behind the user names. If you get the chance, it's something I highly recommend.
Last year was the first time I attended. Would have been there this year, but messed around and didn't have a road worthy bike to ride. I too am not much on large crowds, but even though there were more riders last year (10-12?), it didn't feel like there were too many.
